Through Members Sitting App, the National Assembly aims at digitally distributing parliamentary documents and to realise the possibility of enabling Honourable Members of Parliament, to electronically manage the integral agenda for each Parliamentary Sitting.
Achieving a paperless Parliament has been the main goal of the National Assembly of Mauritius for many years. ICT is becoming ever more ubiquitous within all organisations and is bringing sustainability, cost cutting and increased effectiveness and efficiency.
The creation and distribution of legislative documents over the past years have been both controlled and limited by the fact that they existed only on paper. It meant that the processes for preparing and disseminating them have been relatively slow, inflexible and expensive. The Members Sitting App makes the core documents produced by the legislature (National Assembly) readily available to Members of Parliament at the tip of their fingers.
